We are PROUD to help our community and children by having "visiting" hedgehogs at Science City for the children and parents alike to learn about the wonderful animal the hedgehog.
On June 6th we welcomed into our kennel a new furry friend named Seabee who is a White Faced Sugar Glider from Alden(An IL breeder from Glider Central) and her mate "Badger" came home to us on Sept 10th from Lauren's Animal Kingdom here in KCMO. On Nov 8th 2009 "Starr" a White Faced Sugar Glider joined our happy home. "Cosmo" a Lion Sugar Glider will be coming home Feb.2 who will be her mate.
And On Feb 1, 2010 myself, my vet Dr. Russel Gimre and his daughter embarked on a trip to Iowa City (a 5.5 hour drive from our home in KC) to pick up 6 little gray gliders who were in need of a new home as rescues as their old owner drop them as well as the OTHER 13 members of their family off at the Shelter in Chicago. All 19 gliders were in one cage with only 1 pouch and no toys. All were very sick and extremely undernutrished as they had ONLY been fed a diet of sunflower seeds and peanuts. Neither of which is the diet full of protien, fresh fruits and veggies plus some mealies that they need to be healthy and strong. Our VERY good friend Alden went and rescued these babies and got them to the vet, started them on meds, got all the boys (there were 7) neutured and two who need stitches due to open cuts on their necks. And then sent out the call for those of us who were able to bring these poor babies into their homes. Which L.O.L. Hedgies was very happy to do accepting Kanga (plus her little joey in pouch "Roo") who was one of the gliders with the mating wound/stitches, Tigger (a little male joey who had the other extremely deep mating wound and stitches) and Tigger's little twin Sister "Piglet. Virginia Gimre took in two little neutered males and a female with a joey(s) in pouch only a week along.These little babies are now the proud owners of a 4X4X6 wire cage, 2 Wooden Wheels, tons of toys, a few pouchs to call their own and all the love and attention they can stand. Welcome Home Little Ones!!!
I am sorry to say we are NO LONGER BREEDING BUSHY TAILED JIRDS, STEPPE LEMININGS OR MONGOLIAN GERBILS. Although I can direct you to people who are still breeding the above listed animals.
WE DO SHIP OUR HEDGEHOGS as well as we are willing to drive some distance to deliver your animal to you.
However a delivery charge will apply for driving depending on the distance and gas prices. Shipping a hedgehog is $250 PLUS the ADOPTION PRICE for anywhere in the United States we do not currently ship out of the states. Feel free to email us with any questions.
*WE DO NOT GIVE ANY REFUNDS* for our hedgehogs NOR do we offer a refund for a deposit given for a hedgehog. However we are always happy and willing to take any hedgehog back due to unforeseen situations.
