Bushy Tailed Jirds while they are a lot like gerbils do have some different needs.
.) BTJS do best with teenages and adults, these are not animals for children under the age of 10 as they are very fast and high jumpers and can easy get away from a young child. And as they are able to flaten themselves down to only about 2-3 inches high which means they can easily get under things even though you think they are too big.
.) BTJS while they like to be with people, are more likey to climb all over you rather then be held by you. Also they do best with a playtime of only for about 10 minutes at a time, and after dark as they tend to be more awake after dark.
.) BTJS like to be at the center of the home or in a room were there are other animals/people and not in a room where they are all by themself.
.) BTJs have no problem with a loud or quiet home and will do okay by themself for a weekend (like if you are going camping ect) just make sure that they have enough food for the time you are gone. And if you are going to be gone longer then 3 days you will need someone to check on them for food and water.
